COFFEE SHOP BARISTA
We’re looking for friendly, dependable Baristas who are passionate about coffee and people. You’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors—serving high-quality drinks, preparing fresh food, and keeping our shop clean and well-stocked. This role is a hourly part-time position.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to recipe standards
- Provide excellent, friendly customer service at all times
- Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout your shift
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Learn and follow all standard recipes for drinks and food items
- Ring up orders accurately on our Square POS system and handle cash and credit transactions responsibly
- Restock food and beverage stations as needed
- Support opening and closing duties to keep the Fairfax Coffee running smoothly
- Complete daily tasks and checklists before leaving your shift
- Work all scheduled shifts unless otherwise arranged with the manager
TRAINING AND ONBOARDING
All new baristas receive a minimum of 20 hours of paid training, including:
- Coffee and espresso brewing methods
- Food prep and safety standards
- Customer care and conflict resolution
- Register and POS procedures
- Equipment cleaning and maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
- A heart for hospitality and a willingness to learn
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Available for a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Previous coffee shop or food service experience is a plus, but not required
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to work independently and manage opening and closing procedures without supervision.
- Minimum age 18 and high school diploma or GED.
