The more that I learn about the speakers and hear about the surprises planned for us, the more that my anticipation builds. However, let’s remember that this is just a shot in the arm for a larger movement that is taking hold at Fairfax.cc. How can we get the most out of the experience AND transition it into our post-conference lives?
Relationships
Why a conference? There is power in bringing everyone together to hear a common vision. (We covered a lot under networking and social media.) In the coming week, watch for new opportunities to connect with others in your channel.
After the conference, is there someone you can share with your notes with? Is there a co-worker or someone in your small group that would benefit from what you learned?
Thought-Leadership
The Blue team has brought in world-class speakers. Many of them have book, blogs, and websites where you can learn more about their work and influence. Visit each of them in Office Hours.
Is there someone in your life or career field who you admire? Ask them to meet with you in a mentoring relationship. Perhaps there is someone who would benefit from hearing your life experiences too!
Knowledge
You want more books? We’ve got them. Hearts and Minds bookstore will be on-site with a wide collection of books on faith and vocation. I could spend hours talking to Beth and Byron, and they are fantastic resources for finding a little something for your own library and your small group.
Beyond ordering from their extensive collection of books, The Hearts & Minds website also has a great blog full of book reviews and “Best of” lists.
See you on Friday!
